Expecting Something

In the experience of pregnancy, we're aware parents-to-be are expecting a bundle of joy who, when born, will be a precious boy or girl. As Christians, although what we need is unique to our own circumstances, we, too, are expecting something. The good news is that what we're expecting, in many ways, has already been poured into us and all we need to do is "birth out" the greatness God's favor has already provided. The Almighty has equipped each of us with far more than we realize and NOW is the time for us to begin trusting Him to bring all we need and hope for to fruition.

Forgiveness: Transforming or Not

Forgiveness in its true essence means what? Are we truly forgiving someone for a particular transgression or are we making way for God to develop in us a new person to be used for His glory? When we forgive no matter how deep the pain or dismal the idea of being betrayed appears, I often wonder if we somehow inherit a new strength in being able to genuinely forgive.

Forgiveness, in my opinion, is a two-way healing - we are transformed in some way when we can get over the obvious and move beyond the imaginable while at the same time, we open the eyes and heart of the person we forgive. In the spirit of keeping it plain, as a person who has been forgiven, probably more times than I'm aware of, I can attest to this concept on many levels.

The next time you are quick to do away with someone for a transgression, take a moment to consider the following: Haven’t you, too, fallen short of meeting expectations? Hasn't the Almighty forgiven you for far more than what you can't forgive someone else? And my ultimate favorite – if God can be forgiving, who are you [we] to do otherwise?

By no means is this view to dismiss there are emotional and even spiritual issues to deal with in forgiving someone. However, I do encourage you to evaluate from all angles the sometimes self-inflicted pain in not being able to extend forgiveness. Someone once shared with me this thought, "I am amazed at how God stretches me." I say to you [and myself] give opportunity to seeing how far you can be stretched… You'll never know when the blessing in the matter is truly for your own peace of mind and personal or spiritual development.

Today's Thought: Find peace in doing what God does for us continuously - forgive!

"In The Eyes of Others"

This morning I sent a text message which read, Someone thinks the world of you or, for them – you are the world. Everyone who responded by the time I penned today’s message had something very unique to say, but one made me pause … The response was, There is nothing special about me – just another man on God’s earth.
Quite naturally, we will never see ourselves in the way others do. Even more astounding, we, too, will never see ourselves or others the way the Almighty does.
Let’s not spend time over analyzing why or what makes others think the way they do about us. Instead, let’s find comfort in our divine uniqueness … God made you and me who we are for a reason – so appreciate it, embrace it, and share your being for the good of others!

Today’s Thought: Don’t discredit who you are because you never know what it means to others.

"A Good Day"

In addition to the blessing of waking up, I pray God gifted each of us with a thankful spirit. As we humbled ourselves in prayer, I hope we surrendered our being for God’s and will trust Him to carry us through the day. It is our duty to embrace everything and everyone with a renewed spirit... Many will be tested because truth is – we’re human. However, have faith and proclaim boldly that, “Today will be a good day in spite of…”

Today's Thought: I'll have what I believe I'm worthy to receive!
